Students will choose a video between a selection of clips provided by the teacher that they will create a soundtrack for. Students will use sfx, foley fx, loops, original composition, digital tools, musical expression, etc. to create a soundtrack that will compliment and enhance the visual images of the video clip.
The lesson can be adapted for beginning through advanced level classes. A beginning level class may primarily use loops for their soundtrack while an advanced class may create an original score. Take a field trip around the school for students to record foley or ambient sounds that they can use for their project.
